S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking a multi-lingual freelance news writerwith a strong command of Portuguese and - or Spanish.
We are seeking a part-time news writer with an understanding of banking and financial markets to contribute to our daily morning news summary feature for Latin America, emailed to clients around the world at 9 a.m.Sao Paulotime every weekday. The successful candidate will be able to quickly locate pertinent news, and succinctly summarize that news for our clients on a tight deadline. Proficiency in reading both Spanish and Portuguese, as well as superb English writing skills, is critical to successfully tackling this position,

The successful candidate will meaningfully contribute to our most widely read daily feature, at a time when we seek to boost the visibility of our reporting and establish a known journalistic brand. In this position, you will be joining our larger Financial Institutions news team of around 100 journalists and editors.

The successful candidate will work closely with editors and with our teams of journalists around the world so teamwork and cross-time zone collaboration are essential. While native-level English and excellent writing skills are required, fluency in Spanish and - or Portuguese are also essential.
The freelance reporter is responsible for scanning relevant media, news and reports from Latin America, and compiling short summaries in English to be submitted by an early-morning deadline of 8a.m. Sao Paulo time, Monday to Friday. S&P Global Market Intelligence news reaches an influential readership that includes analysts, regulators, lawyers, regulators, politicians and major players at well-known banks, investors and multinationals across the globe. The firm's massive database offers ample opportunities to enhance and drive that reporting.
Write concise and insightful breaking news to deadline, in close cooperation with the team editors.
Must possess broad knowledge of finance, markets and world events.
Must have a track record of financial journalism at a high level.
Fluency in English necessary along with a strong command of Portuguese and - or Spanish
Candidates will need to provide samples of recent published work and pass a writing test. -
