The Role:

We are currently looking for a highly skilled individual with experience in analysing financial institutions, both banks and non-banks, to join our Financial Institutions team as an Associate Director based in our Tel Aviv office. You will:*

  • Perform credit analysis demonstrating the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect issue and issuer credit ratings, through the application of the relevant S&P Global ratings criteria.

  • Take analytical responsibility on a rating portfolio of approximately 10-12 credits as primary analyst, primarily focusing on banks and non-banks financial companies in Israel, maintaining high quality ratings and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Analyse complex credit stories and present findings and opinions to a credit rating committee.

  • Work with the rest of the European Financial Institutions team on, and lead as appropriate, ad-hoc research projects

    • Attend - prepare and ultimately vote in Credit Committees within areas of direct responsibilities, and selectively committees of relevant peers.
  • Prepare a variety of material suitable for publication on S&P Global Ratings credit portal as well as on local portal at Maalot and other media (such as rating reports, press releases, and detailed commentaries) sufficient to disseminate and explain our ratings on a timely basis.

  • Coordinate with analytical teams from other S&P offices to deliver timely and thorough surveillance and publications on credits.

  • Lead meetings and interact with senior management of issuers to obtain information upon which to base credit rating decisions.

  • Be an analytical role model for colleagues and junior analysts.

  • Maintain integrity of analytical or compliance related databases as appropriate.

Moreover, you demonstrate the ability to engage with clients at board level and represent S&P Global Ratings in a highly professional manner to global investors. You will be required to prepare and have an active role in meetings with senior management teams to extract and assess information relating to credit quality and to explain our credit rating opinions. Strong communication and organizational skills are also required to present detailed information and reasoned opinions to our credit rating committees.

Your Skills:

The successful candidate will have an established track record in credit analysis for Financial Institutions and will be proficient at doing research and drafting issuer and sector analysis, with strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and a passion for service excellence. Languages English and Hebrew.

Qualifications - Experience:

  • Solid, demonstrable experience of at least 8 years in Financial Institutions (both banks and non-banks) credit analysis. Be educated to degree level in a relevant business related field and possibly MBA, CFA or advanced degree.

  • Be fluent in both oral and written English and Hebrew, with proven ability to draft analytical reports in English. Other language skills would be an advantage.

  • Have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.

  • Be numerate and accurate with figures and detail orientated with the ability to maintain accuracy whilst complying with strict deadlines.

  • Ability to adopt the company s high quality and compliance standards culture in the context of a regulated activity such as ratings.

  • Be motivated, well organized and flexible to adapt to changing work requirements and to manage competing priorities.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment is critical.

    • Be computer literate having strong Excel - Word - PowerPoint and database application skills.
  • Availability to travel when needed.
