The successful candidate will work in a team whose responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and piloting new technologies, as well as driving technologies that increase end-user productivity across S&P globally. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, mobile applications, systems-integrations, automation, and machine learning. The incumbent will report to the Senior Director, Technology Enablement and will be instrumental in providing innovative technical solutions to modernize the end-user experience across the entire enterprise.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a background in custom application architecture and development along with experience solving diverse business challenges using technology. It will support the Workplace Services Technology Enablement team in the development of custom applications and system integrations. The candidate s workload will center around the definition, architecture, and development of applications focused on improving the way S&P works. You will assist with all major project initiatives, enhancements, analysis, and day-to-day support. This role will require a flexible, agile approach to meet our changing business needs. The technologies and skills employed will vary but, at a minimum, will include C#, API development and AWS. Most importantly, however, it requires a genuine interest and demonstrable ability to learn and apply new technologies and platforms.

What We re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience

  • 5-7 years experience in n-tiered application development.

  • Desire and demonstrable ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.

    • Knowledge of application design - architecture (e.g., design patterns, dependency injection, DevOps principals, elasticity, asynchronous programming, etc.)
  • Strong OOP foundation

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

  • Exposure to cloud computing (AWS or Azure)

  • Exposure to continuous integration principals and technologies

  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile preferred)

  • Exposure to machine learning and AI services (DialogFlow, AWS, IBM, Azure, etc.) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a mid-level member of a software engineering team

  • Experience working with a diverse suite of technologies

    • Experience providing sound - scalable architectural recommendations
  • Hands-on development experience in C#

  • Preference will be given to candidates who also demonstrate experience in additional languages and frameworks

  • Strong knowledge in RDBMS development (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server)

  • Experience working with and designing RESTful APIs

  • Experience writing and evaluating technical and functional requirements
