The Role:

The Technology Communications Manager for S&P Global will manage technology communications throughout APAC, with a primary focus on India and Pakistan markets, reporting into the Global Head of Technology Communications based in Washington D.C. She or he will work in close alignment with teammates in New York, as well as our division level and strategic communications teammates locally in the regionall part of the unified and robust global communications team at S&P.

You will be a member of the S&P Global technology communications team. We support S&P s Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Data Officer, our Executive Vice President of Data, Technology & Innovation and other top-level executives across the enterprise, as well as their corporate-level teams across technology - operational services. In this role, you will have an exciting opportunity to help support S&P Global s technology evolution- influencing regional communications strategy, managing content creation for internal and external audiences and supporting high priority communications projects. You will also manage and grow strategic press relationships on behalf of S&P Global as related to technology, resulting in increased media exposure and brand awareness throughout APAC. This is a highly visible role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage media relations activities, including developing relationships with members of the media, drafting messages, coaching spokespeople, organizing events, pitching stories, garnering press attributions and handling inquiries.

  • Strategically promote thought leadership initiatives and projects through internal and external communications channels, including developing content for and executing on employee-focused communications, as well as external communications.

  • Develop and lead communication plans and media activities in APAC, including occasional travel as needed.

  • Work closely with SPGI stechnology - operationalservices team and key thought leaders - group leaders to develop comprehensive strategic outreach plans for key initiatives; ensure appropriate communications strategies are aligned with branding activities.

  • Work on ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Finance or a related subject

  • 4-6 years of relevant communications experience- media relations experience in technology is valued for this role.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Office 360

  • Understanding the unique local environment when planning and implementing communications activities; adapting regional - global strategies to suit local situation

  • Confident to work with numerous internal senior stakeholders globally

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills

  • Strategic thinking, strong execution, teamwork and flexibility

  • Able to deal with complex and sensitive media inquiries

  • Strong professional relationships with FinTech and technology journalists
