The Team - The Business:

As an associate, you would be expected to manage a complex portfolio of Housing related credits as well as work with a team of other analysts in working through our ratings process. A lot of the work is completed independently, but every rating involves a team of analysts, so teamwork is very important. The pace is fairly rapidand the work is diverse, so this environment is best suited to individuals who enjoy being challenged intellectually, can pivot from working on their own and to being a member of a team and can interact professionally with issuers and investors.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Associate, you will analyze a portfolio of assigned entities as well as moderately complex situations, data, and information, assesses client s financial projections and resolve difficult deal-specific analytical situations. This position is responsible for meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media requirements in conjunction with senior members of the organization, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credits, as assigned by a more senior manager. Specifically, in this role, the analyst will:

  • Act as the primary analyst for a complex entity or transaction and be an active, vocal voting member of the committee who makes recommendations to the rating committee and prepares material for ratings publication.

  • Function as a sector resource on credits. Publish timely industry commentaries, and proficiently write sector reviews and thought leadership pieces. Develop and lead ideas on papers across a broad range of issues for publication in S&P journals and other publications.

  • Speaking publically and representing the company to external stakeholders.

  • Ensure a risk aware culture including leading by example.

  • This person in this position will have the opportunity to increase our ability to efficiently and effectively serve our clients.

  • Your analysis and work is essential to the covering of a diverse portfolio of credits, as well as in the training of others to help them resolve difficult day-to-day analytical issues and problems.

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should possess critical thinking skills, along with proficiency with major off-the-shelf software.

  • The candidate should have the aptitude to be a team player, but also be able to work independently.

  • MBA, Master s Degree or CFA designation is desirable.

  • Credit or Housing background

  • Municipal Finance experience a plus

  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
