S&P Global Rating Analyst, Structured Finance Ratings – Nontraditional Securitization in Centennial, Colorado

The Team:

S&P Global is seeking a Rating Analyst to join its Structured Finance Ratings group as a member of the Nontraditional Securitization group. The practice provides credit ratings of structured products that are backed by pools of nontraditional assets including aircraft, container and railcar leases; small business and timeshare loans; insurance-related receivables, tobacco settlement funds, intellectual property rights and renewable energy leases - loans.

Responsibilities:

The Rating Analyst will support the analytical teams in all aspects of the ratings process, from collecting and reviewing data, preparing committee documentation, publishing, and the quality assurance process including, with limited supervision:*

  • Conducting research and preparing documents and presentations for rating committees;

  • Analyzing cash flow and collateral characteristics of asset pools;

  • Attending ratings committee meetings with senior analysts as assigned;

  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis;

  • Assisting in the collection and analysis of data on special projects; and

  • Working with analysts to publish periodic thought leadership articles

What We re Looking For:

  • BS - BA or similar degree (coursework in quantitative subjects such as computer science a plus)

    • One to two years of work experience

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team, particularly with remote colleagues

    • Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.

    • Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C , MATLAB, Python, or VBA) a plus

    • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

    • Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and to multitask
